More industry heavyweights added to Australian Music Week 2019

Australian Music Week has fast become a must-attend music conference this year.

AMW organisers have just announced Michael Chugg (Chugg Entertainment), Roger Field (Live Nation and Owen Orford (New World Artists) among those joining the panel discussion on the State Of Play in the Australian music industry.

Also announced for the panel were Jaddan Comerford (Unified Music Group), Sahara Herald (Frontier Touring), and Tim Worton (ASM Global, previously AEG).

The panel will be moderated by Bob Lefsetz, the US-based commentator, podcaster and author of The Lefsetz Letter.

Lefsetz is also a keynote speaker, with his event to be moderated by Noise 11 founder Paul Cashmere.

Now in its fifth year, AMW is held November 6—10 at Cronulla Beach in Sydney.

In other latest news, TEG chief executive Geoff Jones will also appear, with his presentation moderated by music journalist Lars Brandle.

Michael Gudinski, John Watson and Peter Garrett will be interviewed on Bob Lefsetz’s live podcast.

In other podcasts, Jeremy Dylan (My Favourite Album podcast) will interview Hayley Mary (The Jezebels), and The Vinyl Guide (for vinyl collectors) also bring their podcast to the stage.

New panel speakers include Susan Heymann (Chugg Entertainment), Justin Cosby (Inertia Music), Rod Yates (The Right Note), Bernard Zuel (The Right Note), Howard Duggan (Scenestr), Rhoda Roberts (Sydney Opera House), Dom Alessio (Sounds Australia), Neal Hunt (Sureshaker) and artist manager Keith Welsh.

Additional panel discussions now include Women In Music, Taking Care of Business, Bands & Brands, Music Industry For Dummies (How it really works), Media, Marketing & Digital, Country Music revolution, Management – Who Needs It Where & When, Exporting our Talent, Hypothetically, Labels, Mental Health, Agents & Touring, Radio, and Americana.

The free 5-day beach Concert series at the Western Sydney Uni stage in Dunningham Park on Cronulla Beach, features William Crighton, Adam Eckersley Band, Nathan Cavaleri, Alex Lahey, Ali Barter and Hayley Mary.

An extra 70 showcasing acts were announced in the second round this morning.

AMW is also hosting the Sydney premiere of Tommy Emmanuel – The Endless Road, with 2 screenings scheduled for 4pm Wednesday, November 6 and 7 pm Saturday, November 9.
