Aussies win first prizes in five ISC categories

Australians took out first prizes in five categories in ISC (International Song Contest).
Flight Facilities had two wins, with Two Bodies winning top spot in the EDM category and Clair de Lune taking out Music Video.
Birds of Tokyo’s Anchor won Rock, Meg Mac’s Never Be in AAA (Adult Album Alternative) and Brisbane’s Hailey Calvert’s I Won’t Forget About You won in the Blues category.
In other wins, Dustin Tebutt’s Silk was ranked #3 in Folk / Singer Songwriter while Byron Bay-based Tropical Zombie’s Waterslides grabbed a #3 spot in the Rock section.
Scores of others received Honourable Mentions. Gaining multiple mentions were Sydney band Stone Parade for Adult Contemporary, Rock and Pop / Top 40. Glades were lauded in EDM and Folk / Singer Songwriter.
Seth Sentry rated in R&B / Hip Hop and Unsigned Only. Bec Laughton & Sam De Jong of Rietta also were honoured in Performance and Unsigned Only.
The Birds of Tokyo also got an Honourable Mention for Pop / Top 40.
Others were Troy Cassar Daley & Paul Kelly (Country), Falls (AAA), Briggs (R&B/ Hip Hop), Pluto Jonz (Adult Contemporary), John Busby of Brisbane’s Halfway (Americana), Straalen McCallum (Teen), 10YR WAR (R&B/ Hip Hop), Adelaide’s Loren Kate (Americana), Tannum Sands (Pop/ Top 40), Tall Sing (R&B/ Hip Hop), Julian Simonz (R&B/ Hip Hop), Tracy McNeil (Americana), Adelaide’s Matt Stillert (Blues), NSW’s Roshani Priddle (Blues), Julian Simonz (R&B/ Hip Hop), Andre Nookodia (R&B/ Hip Hop), Tim McAuliffe of Melbourne’s The Oopsy Doopsies (Children’s Music) and Kat Smythe (Comedy/Novelty).
Also on the list were Jared Porter & Kaylee Bell (Country), Jasmine Rae (Country), Casey Barnes (Music Video), John Krusulja & Luke O’Shea (Performance) and Angela Thornton (Lyrics Only),
The songs were judged on creativity, originality, lyrics, melody, arrangement and overall likeability.
Judges included Tom Waits, Avicci, Lorde, Bastille, Hardwell, American Authors, Boyz II Men, Moby, Pat Metheny, Keb Mo, Bill Withers, Kesha, Sean Paul, Stanley Clarke, as well as Epic Records President Sylvia Rhone, Glassnote Records President Daniel Glass, producer Steve Lillywhite, Capitol Records SVP of A&R Mike Flynn and President of Alligator Records Bruce Iglauer.
