EXCLUSIVE: Aus manager Rowan Brand merges company with two international firms

Sydney native Rowan Brand, who managed Boy & Bear until 2011, has launched new independent boutique artist management company, TRIBE.

Operating out of London (at Rak Studios) and Netherlands (at Kytopia), TRIBE was formed out of three existing management companies, Jack Saunders’ UK company Rift Management, Matthijs Boom Management out of Utrecht and Rowan Brand’s RedGreenBlue Co.

Speaking to TIO, Rowan Brand said 26-year-old Jack Saunders had been a consultant for the RedGreenBlue roster over the last few years.

Meanwhile, Brand and 30-year-old Matthijs Boom had previously co-managed multi-platinum Dutch singer-songwriter Dotan together. Boom is also a consultant for SPEC management, the market leaders in the booming domestic Dutch urban music sector.

“TRIBE allows each of us to share resources and allows for scale in a way that we’ve never been able to do before as singular managers,” Brand told TIO.

The merger sees the acts signed to each of the three management firms now all exist under TRIBE’s banner. They are: Alpines and Tusks (formerly signed to Rift), Bear’s Den and Dan Croll (of RedGreenBlue), and Rachel Louise (of Matthijs Boom Management).

Brand told TIO the ethos behind TRIBE is: “Young, truly independent, internationally-minded, fan-focused, forward-thinking, transparent artist management.”
