ASM Global appoints Rebecca Barry to oversee HR in Asia-Pacific
Events and venue management company ASM Global has appointed Rebecca Barry as the director of people and culture for its Asia-Pacific operations.
Barry starts in the role after holding a number of senior positions in venue management, which included setting up ASM Global’s HR operations at ANZ Stadium ahead of the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. More recently, Barry worked at ASM Global’s associate company, Venues Live, as their general manager of organisational development, which involved overseeing the opening of Optus Stadium in Perth.
ASM Global’s chairman & CEO for the region, Harvey Lister, said Barry’s appointment comes as the company experiences strong expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.
“I have no doubt in Becc taking us to the next level, given the breadth of her thinking and experience around workplace culture development in particular,” Lister said in a statement.
ASM Global’s portfolio in Australia includes RAC Arena in Perth, Darwin Convention Centre, Cairns Convention Centre, Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Brisbane Entertainment Centre and more venues. Barry will be based at Qudos Bank Arena.
The company rebranded from ASM Ogden to ASM Global in October 2019. In the same month, it bought the 25% stake in Venues Live previously held by Techfront Australia.
