Applications open for APRA AMCOS’ $5,000 Art Music Fund
APRA AMCOS has opened applications for its Art Music Fund.
The initiative, available to music creators, includes 11 grants of $5,000 each that are available to nine Australian and two New Zealand composers.
The Art Music Fund is an initiative of APRA AMCOS in partnership with the Australian Music Centre, but this year is presented as part of a new partnership with SOUNZ Centre for NZ Music.
This new round of funding is the seventh of its kind, with the grants being given to artists who “create works with a long artistic and performance life”.
Applications are open now, and close at 5pm AEDT on February 16.
AMC CEO Catherine Haridy said in a statement that they “are proud to support our Australian music creators to develop and present new innovative compositions,
APRA AMCOS head of membership Alison Wright stressed the importance of the grant on the back of COVID-19 and how it decimated the music industry.
“This opportunity comes on the back of some really challenging times for our members,” Wright said, “and we look forward to hearing and experiencing new music from this great initiative.”
