ARIA Week 2014 program unveiled

This year’s ARIA week is set to feature its most diverse program of gigs, showcases and conferences in its three year history. Made up of a huge line-up that shows off Sydney’s resplendent live music scene, the festival will be running from November 21 –December 4.

Presented in partnership with the NSW Government via tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, the festivities will feature acts like Hilltop Hoods, Megan Washington, L-Fresh The Lion and Jackie Onassis.

Renowned artist manager Paul McGuiness has been confirmed for a Q&A with John Watson at the invitation only ARIA Masterclass held on Tuesday November 35.

ARIA CEO, Dan Rosen spoke of McGuiness’ involvement in the Masterclass, saying: “ARIA is delighted to be welcoming Paul McGuinness to Sydney as the keynote speaker for this year’s ARIA Masterclass. As U2’s manager for more than three decades, Paul guided the band from pub gigs in Dublin to being the biggest band in the world. It will be great to hear some of the unique insights he has gathered from his many years working in our industry.”

ARIA Week will also host several events including Kings Cross IGNITE: Heat The Street, a joint initiative a joint initiative with The Live Music Office, APRA AMCOS and the City Of Sydney. The inaugural event will have performances by M-Phazes, KLP, The Potbelleez, Playwrite, Emma Birdsall, Milan, Sun Rai (Rai Thistlethwayte) and Australian jazz icon Jonathan Zwartz in support of live music venues in the Cross

Sydney’s annual Electronic Music Conference will also be back, expanding beyond just a day time industry-focused conference, with EMC Play, a program of public evening showcase events, set to take place at some of Sydney’s best music venues.
