ARIA Chart Predictions: U2’s track record in Australia is superb, but can they dismantle the Top 3?
U2 are making a strong run to the summit on this week’s ARIA Albums chart. The Irish greats’ new album Songs Of Experience is sitting in the Top 5 at the halfway stage, and will attempt to disassemble the P!NK/Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran fortress at the top of the chart.
Including studio and compilation albums, U2 has 11 #1s in Australia since 1984’s The Unforgettable Fire hit the peak, an impressive record that doesn’t even include The Joshua Tree which was denied a #1 by John Farnham’s legendary comeback album Whispering Jack.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas on the ARIA Albums chart too, with Mariah Carey, The Wiggles and Human Nature all moving into the Top 30 with their seasonal offerings. Recent tours by Shawn Mendes and Sia are also paying off, with their albums moving back into the Top 30 and Top 40 respectively.

Meanwhile, the ARIA Singles chart is slipping into holiday mode, with the only notable debut being ’Him & I’fromG-Eazy ft.Halsey. All eyes will be on the Top 2 positions, to see which version of Ed Sheeran’s unstoppable hit ’Perfect’ will move up the chart. Will the addition of Beyonce to the remix be enough to claim the throne fromCamila Cabello? Only time will tell.

You can also expect to see NF’s ’Let You Down’ moving into the Top 10, as well as the banger ’I Miss You’ from Clean Bandit ft. Julia Michaels moving into the Top 30.
