Arctic Monkeys announce Sydney pop-up store, film screenings
To coincide with the release on Friday (May 11) of Arctic Monkeys’ album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, EMI Music Australia has organised a pop-up store in Sydney on the Friday and Saturday.
It will offer “unique and limited album and merchandise items”.
It will be at the Golden Age Cinema & Bar, at 80 Commonwealth St in Surry Hills, opening both days 11:00am – 8:30pm.
In addition to the store, the band will also be programming the films at Golden Age cinema on the two days, choosing five of their favourite films.
The screenings are:
Friday
6:00pm: Le Cercle Rouge– Directed by Jean-Pierre Mellville
9:00pm: The Conversation – Directed by Francis Ford Coppola
Saturday
2:00pm: L’eclisse – Directed by Michelangelo Antonioni
5:00pm: The Last Waltz – Directed by Martin Scorsese
7:30pm: Inherent Vice – Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson

In the meantime Arctic Monkeys’ North American and UK tours have had to be expanded as fans clamour for tickets.
They’re currently in the US in the run up to the album’s release.
The September shows in the UK include two-night stints each at London’s O2 Arena and Manchester Arena.
