APRA AMCOS has just announced figures showing a huge year in growth for 2015’s digital royalty earnings, reporting a 178% increase in earnings from Spotify and 91% increase in earnings from YouTube in Q3 2015 alone.
The collection society also has Apple Music royalty distribution in the works which will be making the second of its quarterly distributions soon.
“We are thrilled to see digital earnings increase exponentially. We’re also extremely proud of the speed with which we’ve been able to distribute revenue from Apple Music,” says Chief Executive of APRA AMCOS Brett Cottle.
The most recent quarterly distribution report also shows that the number of APRA AMCOS members receiving royalty payments is up 20% year on year, on top of an 18% increase in the number of works receiving royalties.
“APRA AMCOS is a dynamic organisation that is invested in the future of music, and we look forward to providing an even greater service to our members and partners when we launch our new system CLEF in early 2017,” Cottle said.
