Amrap Chart Wrap: Melbourne Trios Hold onto Top Spots in Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the Top 10tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees Terrible Truths and Cookin’ on 3 Burners hold onto the top spots.

Adelaide and Brisbane via Melbourne trio Terrible Truths have held onto #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart with See Straight. The band are going down well with stations in metropolitan areas across the country, picking up feature album on both Edge Radio Hobart and PBS FM Melbourne and making it into 2ser Sydney’s SERvin’ Up! new music list, Three D Radio Adelaide’s Top 20+1, and 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Top 20. Cookin’ on 3 Burners are back in the Amrap Regional Chart at #1 with The Writing’s On The Wall feat. Tex Perkins. The three-piece also take #7 in the Amrap Metro Chart. Listen to their interview on 2ser’s Friday Drive earlier this year, chatting about their move towards reduced instrumentation and working with guest vocalists. Claws & Organs have entered the Amrap Metro Chart in the lofty position of #2 with No Teeth, No Stamina. The track has received support from SYN Melbourne and 4ZZZ Brisbane, picking up spots in their Sweet 16 and Top 20 lists. The energetic track has had spins across the country at stations including Edge Radio Hobart, Harvey Community Radio in WA, Valley FM and 4ZZZ in QLD, FBi Radio and Yass FM in NSW, and 3MDR, 979 FM, Voice FM and Phoenix FM in VIC.

Matt Corby enters his third week in the Amrap Regional Chart, taking #2 with Monday, also taking #10 in the Amrap Metro Chart. Corby joined Sweetie and Shag in the FBi Radio studio recently, explaining why he named the single after the worst day of the week. Stillwater Giants enter their third week in the Amrap Metro Chart at #3 with Patience having picked up spots in SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16 and RTR FM Perth’s Sound Selection. The pace driven track has received airplay across the country at 5THE, in SA, Twin Cities Radio, Tjuma FM, Harvey Community Radio and 89.7 FM in WA, 2MCR, 2VTR, 2RDJ, 2REM and Tune! FM in NSW, and 3MDR, Apple FM, 3MGB, 3RPC, HOT FM, 3MDR, UGFM and Wyn FM in VIC.

Russell Morris has retained his place in the Amrap Regional Chart, taking #2 with Lonesome Road. Queensland duo Hussy Hicks are back at #4 in the Amrap Regional Chart with That Old Heartache. Sydney songmaker Elizabeth Rose debuts at #5 in the Amrap Metro Chart with the RnB leaning Shoulda Coulda Woulda, having picked up rotation on SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16 and Sydney’s FBi Radio. Rose has a long history with her hometown station having been a finalist in FBi’s Northern Lights competition and winning the 2014SMAC Award for Next Big Thing. Melbourne self-described ’glam pop’ supergroup Terry have held onto #6 in the Amrap Metro Chart with Talk About Terry. The track picked up a spot in Triple R Melbourne’s Soundscape and has racked up airplay on stations including Valley FM in QLD, FBi Radio Sydney, Hills Radio and 5THE in SA, Triple R, 3CR, 3RPC, PBS FM and Inner FM in VIC, as well as Bay FM, 2SEA, 2NBC and Yass FM in NSW.

The Cat Empire take #7 in the Amrap Regional Chart with Wolves. Watch their newly released film clip for the latin single as featured via Amrap Pages on 3MDR in VIC, TYGA FM in TAS, 4ZZZ in Brisbane, Harvey Community Radio in WA, as well as and Bay FM and Nambucca Valley Radio in NSW.

Zone Out have entered the Amrap Metro Chart at #8 with Inside having picked up spots in FBi Radio Sydney’s Adds List and SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16 plus additional airplay at stations including RTR FM Perth, Hills Radio in SA, King Island Community Radio in TAS, Valley FM and 4ZZZ in QLD, Triple R and UGFM in VIC, and 2HHH and FBi Radio Sydney.

Bernardine take #9 in the Amrap Regional Charts with the soft brooding single Day by Day. Watch this clip of her live in-studio performance of the track on 89.7 FM in WA’s Live and Local. The track has received further airplay on stations including Coast FM in SA, RTR FM in Perth, 3RPC in VIC, and Edge FM, Triple U and Triple H in NSW.

Royal Headache continue their strong run in the Amrap Metro Chart, taking #9 with Another World in their fourth charting week.
