Amrap Chart Wrap – Jack Colwell and Boy & Bear retain #1 spots in Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the Top 10tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees previous chart toppers Jack Colwell and Boy & Bear (pictured)maintain their positions atop the Amrap Metro and Regional Charts respectively.

Indie-pop singer songwriter Jack Colwell holds on to the #1 spot in the Amrap Metro Chart with his bold tune Don’t Cry Those Tears. The raw yet beautiful offering earned rotation on FBi Radio Sydney and a place in Triple R Melbourne’s Soundscape. It also received additional airplay on Valley FM in ACT, Fleurieu FM in SA, RTR FM in WA, SYN and PBS FM in VIC as well as 2EAR, Highland FM and 2SEA in NSW. Sydney five-piece Boy & Bear also hang on to their #1 spot in the Amrap Regional Chart, whilst grabbing the #10 spot in the Amrap Metro Chart with their new single Walk The Wire. Hear the indie-folk band’s front man Dave Hosking on The Range on Radio Adelaide talking about touring life, TV audiences and piracy. The dirty, danceable, synth-tinged romp has garnered airplay on ArtSound FM in ACT, 8CCC in NT, Coast FM and Noosa Community Radio in QLD, Radio Goolarri and 5THE in SA, 6DBY and Harvey Community Radio in WA, HOT FM, North West FM and SYN in VIC and Radio Blue Mountains, Monaro FM and Greater Hume Radio in NSW.

Melbourne’s infectiously unique psych-pop group Blank Realm take out the #2 spot in the Amrap Metro Chart for the second consecutive week but this time with Palace of Love, the second single off their new LP. The track’s combination of catchy hooks and mysterious storytelling has landed it places in Sound Selection on RTR FM Perth, Top 20 on 4ZZZ Brisbane, Top 10 on PBS FM Melbourne and SERvin’ Up on 2ser Sydney. Hear the Australian underground anthem featured on Amrap Pages via Edge Radio Hobart, Triple R Melbourne and Melton Community Radio in VIC.

Blues-rockers The Snowdroppers make their debut in the Amrap Regional Chart at the #2 position with the dark slab of blues rock that is their single Devil Child. The track’s fuzzy upbeat grooves attained airplay on Tyga FM in TAS, Hills Radio in SA, Valley FM and Fraser Coast FM in QLD, Tjuma Pulka Media Aboriginal Corporation and Radio MAMA in WA, RPP FM, Mountain District Radio and 3NRG in VIC, as well as 2AAA, Ten FM and SWR FM in NSW.

Electronic producer and singer Banoffee rises up the Amrap Metro Chart to #3 this week, and also enters the Amrap Regional Chart at #9 for her unique new wave, RnB and synth led offering With Her. The Melbourne artist’s tune obtained a spot on rotation on FBi Radio Sydney and can be heard via Amrap Pages featured on Edge Radio Hobart and Triple H FM Sydney. The track’s floating textures, aquatic piano and majectic vocals received additional airplay on stations including CAAMA Radio in NT, Noosa Community Radio in QLD, MainFM, 3MGB and SYN in VIC, and also Nambucca Valley Radio, 2SSR, and Macarthur Community Radio in NSW.

19-year-old Melbourne native Cloves enters the Amrap Regional Chart at #3 with her gentle and effortless new song Frail Love. The first single off her forthcoming EP received airplay on RTR FM and Hedland Community Radio in WA, Noosa Community Radio and Valley FM in QLD, 2RRR, 2SSR, Port Stephens FM and Braidwood Community Radio in NSW, as well as HOT FM, 3RPC, Inner FM and JOY FM 94.9 in VIC. The distinguished and delicate track can be heard via Amrap Pages on 4ZZZ Brisbane and Triple H FM Sydney.

Psychedelic rock seven-piece King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard climbed up the Amrap Metro Chart to #6 this week with Paper Mâché Dream Balloon. The track also debuted at #6 in the Amrap Regional Chart, and you can hear the lads chatting about their umpteenth new album plus their very own festival “Gizzfest” on 2ser Sydney. King Gizz are juxtaposing their well known brand of heavy, fuzzy psychedelia with this song, producing an intoxicating pop masterpiece. The tune gained a spot in the Top 20 on 4ZZZ Brisbane and can be heard via Amrap Pages on FBi Radio Sydney, Bay FM in QLD, Triple R Melbourne and Mountain District Radio in VIC.

Jimi Beavis enters the Amrap Regional Chart at #5 with his stonking tune Python Squeeze, Cobra Strike. Hear the Melbourne blues and roots artist interviewed on 4ZZZ Brisbane,’s Folk Buddies, where he chats about gigs, writing, recording and the shock of people from all over the world buying his music. The funk beats, Rolling Stones-inspired blues track received airplay on Hills Radio in SA, King Island Radio and TYGA FM in TAS, Valley FM and Fraser Coast FM in QLD, RTR FM and Tjuma Pulka Media Aboriginal Corporation in WA, Port Stephens Radio, Nambucca Valley Radio and Ten FM in NSW, and also 94.7 The Pulse, 3NRG, 3RPC and 3MGB in VIC.
