Alice Cooper has scored his highest Aussie chart position in 40 years
Alice Cooper recently released his 27th studio album, Paranormal, and it’s proved to be a major success worldwide, giving Cooper his highest Aussie chart position in four decades.
His first record in six years, Paranormal has seen unprecedented success for the rocker, including top 10 positions in Belgium, USA, UK, Sweden, Finland, and Germany, where it was Cooper’s highest chart entry since 1972’s School’s Out. The record has also seen it reach the top position on the iTunes rock charts in twelve countries, and reach the top five in twenty.
On the local front though, Paranormal has been Alice Cooper’s most successful record since 1977’s Lace And Whiskey, which climbed to number three on the Kent Music Report in May of that year.
Alice Cooper is set to tour Australia later this year with Ace Frehley from KISS, marking 40 years since he first undertook a tour to our fine country. No word yet on whether or not the chart success of the new record will further boost demand for tickets to some of the already sold out gigs, but it’s clear that Alice Cooper is nowhere near done with his illustrious career.
