AIR Awards 2023 Are Locked-In With Two New Categories

The 2023 AIR Awards return to Adelaide this August, with a brace of new categories celebrating behind-the-scenes music professionals.

This year’s ceremony will recognise the independent marketing team of the year and independent publicity team of the year, new honours that celebrate the efforts of teams that delivered a release campaign for a single, EP or album that’s shortlisted for this year’s AIR Awards.

To nominate, notes Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR), organisers of the annual event, you must be an artist, associate, full or distributor AIR member.

Nominations are now open for the 2023 AIR Awards, which will take place Aug. 3 in the City of Churches.

The annual celebration of independent success will take again take place in conjunction with the annual Indie-Con Australia conference, which will run from Aug. 2-4.

Winners at last year’s ceremony included Shouse, Hiatus Kaiyote, I Oh You, and Genesis Owusu, who collected trophies for best independent hip hop album or EP, independent album of the year and independent song of the year for his all-conquering debut LP Smiling With No Teeth.

Performers on the night included Jesswar, Telenova, Teenage Joans, Jaguar Jonze, and Andrew Swift.

Tickets to Indie-Con will go on sale in June.
