Creina Chapman’s new role at SCA
Creina Chapman is joining SCA as Head of Regulatory Affairs and Corporate Communications.
The new role will see Creina represent Southern Cross Austereo’s interests on industry bodies like Commercial Radio Australia and FreeTV, as well as engaging with government regarding legislative change and managing corporate communications.
Down Periscope, UP Facebook Mentions?
Back in April Radio Today’s Tracy Johnson did a great story on how you could tap into using the Twitter-backed Periscope App on your show. Periscope is an instant real time video stream. Just this week though, Facebook has countered the Persicope push with a new App, Facebook Mentions.
It’s a new social package from the Facebook boffins that allows you to not only share updates across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter all from one app, but the killer part for radio is Go Live.
Hot Tomato #1 again
Survey 2 on the Gold Coast has been released last week with Hot Tomato the leading station in the market for the second consecutive survey.
Hot Tomato on 13.5% sits in the #1 position, with GoldFM #2 on 12.7%, and SeaFM on 10.8% in #3.
Notwithstanding a slight fall of 0.7% overall for Hot Tomato, the declines were out of target; from teens and a big correction 18-24's (down 11.6). With the station improving its share of 25-54 the decline would be unlikely to be too concerning.

Since FM radio began in Australia in 1980 there have been some brilliant drive shows. And there are now more than ever.
Whilst not as critical to overall ratings as the all important Breakfast show, they provide entertainment and comedy for the mostly mobile/in car listening audience each weekday afternoon.
Many former great breakfast show hosts have ended up on drive. Most of these drive shows are, or were, national although some ran in local markets only.
