Live Nation acquires fifth-biggest promoter in the world, Germany’s MLK

Marking a key expansion for the company,Live Nation Entertainment has formed Live Nation Concerts Germany with German concert promoterMarek Lieberbergto promote concerts and festivals inGermany,AustriaandSwitzerlandbeginningJan. 1, 2016.
As the fifth largest promoter in the world,Marek Lieberbergwill add over 700 shows and more than 2 million fans to Live Nation's platform of over 23,000 shows for 60 million fans, across more than 40 countries. Ticketmaster Germany will serve as the lead ticketing company, adding over 2 million tickets to its inventory. Under the terms of the deal,Marek Lieberbergwill be chief executive officer of Live Nation Concerts Germany andAndre Lieberbergwill serve as president.

Marek Lieberberghas more than 45 years of experience in concert promotion and creating the leading festivals inGermany. He has worked with Live Nation in the past to promote tours includingJustin Timberlake, Rihanna, U2 and Madonna, and on his own has worked with Depeche Mode, Metallica,Bruce Springsteen, Michael Bublé, Coldplay, Queen andCeline Dion.
