Flyying Colours sign to Island Records Australia

Melbourne-based Flyying Colours have announced their sophomore EP “ROYGBIV” will be released Friday August 21st via new ANZ label, Island Records Australia/UMA. The first single from the EP, is the dreamy shoegaze “Running Late” and is available today as well as the instant grat track on pre-order.
Fresh from supporting legendary Johnny Marr (The Smiths) on his Australian National Tour, Flyying Colours will be headlining small venues next week to support the release of their new EP and single “Running Late”.
True to their name, Flyying Colours unashamedly display their influences on ROYGBIV – tone-bending My Bloody Valentine / Swervedriver guitars, ferocious bass hooks and the familiar soft hush of early 90s dueting vocals. Added to the mix is their own edgy, refreshing pop-mindedness, buoyed by the lush vocal interplay and finely crafted songwriting wrapped up in a bombastic live show. Flyying Colours have already been making waves internationally with the recent release of “ROYGBIV” through labels CLUB AC30 (UK & Europe) & SHELFLIFE (US). “Running Late” was premiered on Stereogum and Clash Magazine online, received substantial airplay on BBC6 and XFM, sat in the Amazing Radio Charts for weeks on end and hit #47 in the CMJ Top 200 Radio Charts. The psych-shoegazers also received overseas attention through their spectacular sold-out live shows in the UK and Europe and appearances at The Great Escape (UK) and Primavera Sound (Spain) Festivals. Formed in 2011, Flyying Colours self-titled EP received a considerable amount of attention, which was then backed up by their explosive live shows, setting them well apart from others occupying Melbourne's fledgling shoegaze scene.
