Aus-based digital company migme partners with Sony India
Australia-based digitalmedia company migme Limited has partnered with Sony Music Entertainment India.
migme’s flagship product is its social media platform, which offers mobile chat, entertainment and microblogging, as well as virtual gifts, games, avatar items, and emoticons.
As part of itsexpansion into India, migme will act as a new social network for Sony artists as the major label introduces several new acts to the platform.
According to Brisbane Times, Sony India artists will be able to gain a share in the revenue generated from the sale of virtual goods.
migme, which first expanded into India in June through a team-up with management agency CAA Kwan, reported a net loss of $28.62 million in 2014.
In an article published by the Australian Financial Review earlier this month,Stephen Goh, CEO of migme said:"There is a rising tide of opportunity as mobile phone adoption in Asia grows, particularly in India, Malaysia and Indonesia.The next internet wave will come from this region and will create a company [similar]in size to an Alibaba, anAmazon or a Facebook."
