Studios 301 are giving away 40 hours of free studio time, again
Following the success of last year’s competition, where five local artists took a share in 40 hours of free studio time, Studios 301 has returned the initiative.
The inaugural competition saw each of the five winners awarded eight hours free studio time.This year though, the studio, which has spaces in Sydney’s Alexandria and Byron Bay, is also offering a mentoring partnership.
Each winner will be paired with one of 301’s producers or mastering engineers to track, mix or master their work collaboratively. Artists have also been offered the opportunity to meet with artist management, consulting and marketing agencyOriginal Mattersfor career advice. Original Matters’ roster includes Sydney psych-rock band The Walking Who, Sydney singer-songwriter Okenyo, Warner Bros. Records/Parlophone signing Lisa Mitchell, and Northern NSW band MT WARNING.
Artists who want to go in the draw to have their music tracked, mixed or mastered at Studios 301 can enter via the Studios 301 website. Artists are requested to submit a link to their latest original trackand a sentence on why they should win.
Entries for the Studios 301 40 Hours Competition open today and close at 5pm (AEST) on Friday, July 17. The five winners will be notified by email on Friday, July 31 2015.
The competition’s inaugural five winners were: triple j favourite Eleanor Dunlop, Byron hip hop artist Nastaij, Sydney singer-songwriter Odette, singer-songwriter, dancer and multi-instrumentalist Eden Mulholland and the supergroup formed by DIG members Scott Saunders and Terepai Richmond, as well as Michael Di Francesco (aka Touch Sensitive) and Peret Von Sturmer (aka DJ Mako).
