Gabrielle Aplin
Light Up The Dark
(PAR/WMA) Out September 18
Gabrielle Aplin became refreshed in many people's memories recently with the announcement of her second studio album Light Up The Dark. The album, set for release on September 18, is the follow up to 2013’s English Rain which has seen plenty of chart success in Australia as well as various parts of Europe. Itpeakedat #10 on the ARIA charts, #2 on the UK Albums chart and #2 and #11 on the Scottish and Irish Albums chart, respectively. The British singer-songwriter has seen her share of success on the TMN Hot 100 as well, with singles The Power Of Love peaking at #22 and Please Don’t Say You Love Me peaking at #18.
Light Up The Dark is written by Aplin herself and her writing partner Luke Potashnick. The album is set to be her most relevant yet, pushing her to the forefront of the markets where English Rain seemed to fall short. The first single to be taken from the album is the title track, and showcases Aplin in a more confident and upbeat setting than many of the singles that defined English Rain. Interestingly, it'sstructured in such a way to make it absolutely ripe for synch opportunities.
