UK’s Proper hires eMusic’s Kameil Sattar as Head of Digital

Proper Music Distribution has hired go-to digital expert Kameil Sattar as its new Head of Digital.
Sattar has been heavily involved within the industry’s radically changing digital landscape for 15 years, taking her first digital role in 2001, the same year as the launch of iTunes. She joins Proper from subscription-based online download store, eMusic.com, where she was Head of Label Relations. Prior to this, Sattar worked at Pinnacle Records for six years, account managing digital and physical products online, and working with retailers such as Amazon, Play.com and iTunes.
Throughout her various roles, Sattar has formed longstanding, strong relationships with the major digital music services, as well as major and independent labels by way of digital marketing strategy and online retail profile.
Working with all formats, Proper’s digital department provides a broad range of multi-territorial digital delivery and marketing services to its label partners. As Head of Digital, Sattar will manage two other team members, focusing on strategy and the growth of the department. This includes developing the current digital delivery proposition and looking at ways to drive revenue growth through promotional innovation and catalogue development.
