Universal Music Publishing Australia signs I Know Leopard

Universal Music Publishing Australia has signed a global music publishing deal with rising Sydney bandIKnow Leopard, it was announced today by Bob Aird, Universal Music Publishing Australia MD, and Heath Johns, Universal Music Publishing Australia Director of A&R.

IKnow Leopard’s debut EPIllumina, marked the band’s arrival as the first two singles “She” and “Hold this Tight” each achievedinternational attention and Australian alternative radio play. The third single,“Daisy Eyes”, showcased a more layered, complex offering, receiving solid National airplay on Triple J and Double J, as well as community radio support and nods of approval from bloggers and journalists worldwide.

FollowingIlluminaamongst intensive national touring, I Know Leopard released the first taste of the band’s forthcoming sophomore EP single, “Perfect Picture”,which was immediately added to full rotation on Triple J. The new single also won them the opening slot at this year's Laneway Festival in Sydney through Triple J's esteemed Unearthed competition.

In making the announcement Johns said:“Weare incredibly pleased to welcomeIKnow Leopard into the Universal Music Publishing family. Their songs are emotive, finely crafted and they are a very impressive live proposition. We look forward to helping them build their career at home and abroad."
