Tyler, The Creator is bringing his world tour to Australia
PRESS RELEASE:
Frontier Touring are thrilled to announce that indie hip hop heavyweight and member of the Odd Future family Tyler, The Creator will be returning for the Australian leg of his Cherry Bomb World Tour this September. Hip hop prodigy Tyler, The Creator released his first album Bastard in 2009 at just 19 years old. Debuting to critical acclaim, the album was featured in Pitchfork’s top 50 albums of the year and was ranked #38 in Complex Magazine’s 50 Best Rapper Mixtapes. Continuing to make waves in 2011, and backed by the now massive hip hop collective Odd Future, Tyler released sophomore album Goblin (XL Recordings) to critical acclaim. At the helm of Odd Future, Tyler has collaborated and toured with other members of the group including Frank Ocean and Earl Sweatshirt. In 2013, Frontier welcomed both Tyler, The Creator and Earl Sweatshirt to Australian shores for their much anticipated Earlwolf Tour, described by AAA Backstage as ‘flawless’. Equally as strong was Tyler’s third album Wolf (out now through Sony Music), which debuted in the Top 20 of the ARIA Album Chart and sold over 230,000 copies worldwide. The album solidified Tyler’s staying power, tackling the same confronting themes with the unique rapping style that he is now famous for. 2015 has already been a huge year for Tyler. Since the digital release of self-produced fourth studio album Cherry Bomb earlier this month, reviews have flooded the internet. Debuting at #13, Cherry Bomb has been his most successful album in Australia yet. Featuring the likes of Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Pharrell Williams, the album is packed full of modern, chaotic beats which frame Tyler’s explosive lyricism and raw emotion. Physical copies of the album were released on April 28, with five alternative album covers to choose from. Earlier this month Tyler released a video for combined tracks ‘F**cking Young,’ and ‘Death Camp,’ taken from Cherry Bomb. Released on April 9, the video is already sitting at close to 2.4 million views on Youtube. Tracks from Cherry Bomb were debuted at his hugely reported on Coachella set. Performing both new tracks and old favourites, Tyler was a real crowd pleaser. Kicking off a worldwide tour in celebration of Cherry Bomb, Tyler will play dates in Europe, England and the U.S. before stopping off in Australia to play shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Controversial and prolific, there’s a reason why Tyler, The Creator is one of the most talked about names in hip hop right now, don’t miss your opportunity to see him live.
