AAM returns of Artist Management Mentorship Program for 2015
PRESS RELEASE:
The Association of Artist Managers'(AAM) flagship Manager Mentor Program is calling for applicants to apply for the 2015 initiative. With support from APRA AMCOS, the AAM has run the successful program since 2013, allowingMentees to receive one-on-one mentoring with an established high-profile artist manager for a period of 6-12 months. The 2015 program will offer 6 available mentorships, and for the first time, Mentees willreceive an all inclusive trip to Bigsound in September 2015, with flights, accommodation and Conference Pass included, for an exclusive round table opportunity with all of the Mentors involved in the program. The AAM is encouraging mid-level artist managers who meet the selection criteria, and are ready for the next step in their career, to apply. In previous years the program has boasted high profile Mentors, includingGregg Donovan(Grinspoon, Josh Pyke, Airbourne, Boy & Bear, Montaigne),Danny Rogers(Gotye, The Temper Trap, Chvrches, Laneway Festival) andCathy Oates(Lisa Mitchell, MT WARNING). David Hume,an AAM member and Mentee in 2014, says of the program:"The timing of the AAM's mentorship program and the opportunity to be linked with Danny Rogers, and the Lunatic team was extremely beneficial and insightful in building an international strategy for Little May and other artists I work with. Danny's experience is second to none, given what he has achieved with Gotye, The Temper Trap and Chvches on an international level, so I was very lucky to have his time in helping steer the ship in the right direction. If you're serious about being an artist manager for a career and have some good runs on the board already, I highly recommend the AAM's mentor program." Applicants need to be AAM members, but can join up at the time of applying if they are not yet members. Applications close 31st May 2015.
