Cat Lynch to join Amos Gill on hit107
What started out as a onemonth working holiday in Adelaide, has tuned into a Breakfast gig for Cat Lynch.
Cat is joining Amos Gill on breakfast for hit107. She replaces Dani Pola who announced she was leaving the show at the end of March.
Irene Hulme, Group CD for SCA Adelaide told Radio Today:
“I first heard Cat when she was filling in for us across the workday and I remember thinking, how have I not heard you before, I loved her style immediately.
"She’s like no one else on the air right now, she sounds contemporary, she’s funny, she’s a great conversationalist with a terrific turn of phrase and she’s real. We hear that getting thrown around a bit but with Cat, what you see is what you get, you can’t help but feel connected to her immediately.”
Axe falls at 4BC and Magic 882
With the merger of Macquarie Radio and Fairfax complete, Brisbane is the next market to see the axe fall.
4BC Breakfast with Ian Skippen and Loretta Ryan – Gone.
4BC Mornings with Patrick Condren – Gone.
4BC Nights with Walter Williams – Gone.
4BC Weekend Breakfast with Murray Shoring – Gone.
Magic 882 Nights with Jo Henderson – Gone
Radio Today understands that local programming on 4BC will now be replaced by content from interstate. It is likely Breakfast will be networked with 2GB's Alan Jones, and Mornings with Ray Hadley. 4BC Nights and Weekends will also be sourced from interstate. It looks like only two local shifts will remain at 4BC at this time. 18 staff in total will exit the Brisbane operation.
Fairfax Chief Operating Officer Adam Lang made a statement:
“As we continue the business integration between Fairfax Radio Network and Macquarie Radio Network, there are staff changes under way at 4BC and Magic 882 in Brisbane. These conversations with our team will conclude by the end of next week.
“A total of 18 roles will be leaving our business with the aim of redeploying some staff within the network.
“4BC on-air presenters, including Breakfast team Ian Skippen and Loretta Ryan, Mornings presenter Patrick Condren, Evening presenter Walter Williams and Weekend Breakast announcer Murray Shoring will finish their roles with the station today. Magic 882 Evening presenter Jo Henderson has also left the station.
“I would like to acknowledge the incredible contribution and dedication these presenters have made to our stations and our Brisbane audience. We will be announcing our new station line-ups shortly and look forward to bringing the very best of our newly expanded Macquarie Radio Network programs to our Brisbane audience.
“This is a very challenging time for everyone in our company and we would like to thank our staff for their patience, understanding and terrific support during this process.
“While any redundancies are regrettable, we are determined to build a stronger national radio network with our music stations and the leading News, Talk and Sport stations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.”
KIX goes National
