Emerging acts added to Groovin’ The Moo

Emerging acts added to Groovin’ The Moo

PRESS RELEASE:

The countdown to Moo-time is on! With less than a month till the six-date tour kicks off in Oakbank SA, Groovin the Moo is super excited to welcome a bunch of truly fabulous local and emerging artists to the line-up.

Each year it’s such a highlight for Groovin the Moo to celebrate the fresh and diverse artists that are making music in each state GTM calls home. And 2015 is no different……

Timberwolf’s folky tunes caught the ears of GTM’s presenting partner, making him the triple j Unearthed winner for Oakbank SA. Jesse Davidson’s smooth, melodic sounds will ring out across the racecourse and SPARKSPITTER bridge the gulf between abstract, instrumentalism and contemporary pop ideals to round out the opening show of the tour. Stay tuned to www.gtm.net.au for more local music coming to GTM Oakbank.

Bunbury GTM will be bursting at the seams with homegrown talent. Doctopus will deliver their durgy garage slacker rock. Timothy Nelson & the Infidels are bringing the folk and roll. Treading the fine line between infectious melody and vicious punk, FOAM will return to the stage. Tired Lion are squeezing time into their touring schedule for GTM and Said the People are representing the South West as the winners of triple j Unearthed.

Bunbury’s Mootown stage will stay pumping with a massive list of local DJs including Bobby Chance, Boston Switch, DJ Jake Watts, Jack Manoni, Juddy, Liquid Culture DJs, Ozradecks, Princi, Rando, Sonder and The Canzirri Project. While it is a massive list, there is space for two more DJ spots! If you live in Bunbury and spend your free time producing quality mash-ups in your bedroom, garage, bathroom or pretty much any other room you can find (not in a professional capacity) this one is for you. Send us your finest mix of approximately 3 minutes, under 6MB with your date of birth and how we can get in contact with you to [email protected].

Local Bendigo group Fountaineer have claimed the triple j Unearthed spot to kick off the second weekend of the tour. Ecca Vandal will show GTM Bendigo why she is rising up as a leading lady of electro-punk. Fresh from their tour with Dan Sultan, Pierce Brothers will be making their GTM debut. Melbourne lad Harts will be serving up the soul.

For the first time, The Plot will be popping up at GTM Bendigo! Following on from the debut event at Melbourne’s Palace Theatre and Ding Dong Lounge in 2013, this new space is sure to go off! Featuring some of Australia’s most exciting up and coming electronic party starters Ara Koufax, Capital B (triple j Unearthed), CC Disco, Flerm, Generik, Gold Fields DJ, Total Giovanni DJs and Two Can.

The Nation’s Capital will be continuing with the theme of Ladies represent on GTM 2015! Hip-hop duo Coda Conduct (winner of triple j Unearthed) and alt-indie songstress Montaigne will be joining an already impressive list of Ladies who are touring as part of the GTM line-up. Xavier Dunn’s sweet, folky tunes promise to be a special treat and Boo Seeka will introduce Canberra to their increasingly popular blend of hip-hop-psych-soul/dream-tronica.

GTM Maitland will stand to attention when triple j Unearthed outfit Yours Alone bring the rock. Electronic Producer and Island Def Jam signing Just A Gent will work his charm. Drawing on influences such as CHVRCHES, The Wombats and Ellie Goulding East will sparkle with her blend of Electronic Indie Pop and Newcastle seven-piece The Soorleys will step up to the GTM stage fresh from spreading their self professed ‘fun folk’ across Nashville USA.

In the spirit of ‘the more the merrier’, The Plot will also be taking over a stage and creating its own patch of party at GTM Maitland! Ahead of the inaugural outdoor event in Parramatta Park on Saturday 5 December, The Plot at GTM Maitland can be considered a warm up. Featuring a hand-picked selection of seriously good party people: Empia, IOU DJs, Mickey Kojak, Odd Mob, Shantan Wantan Ichiban, Stephane 1993 (triple j Unearthed), Stoney Road DJs and UV Boi.

As the final show on the tour, Tropical Townsville has much to celebrate! Fusing new age country with Australian Hip Hop and everything in between, Local lads King Social will be sharing their tunes to kick off the day. Sam Wright is representing Townsville QLD as the winner of triple j Unearthed. With origins in Cairns, the now Brisbane based alt six-piece Mosman Alder will hit the highway to travel north and make their GTM debut. Local up and coming artist THEOUTDOORZ will make his mark as ‘one to watch’ and complete the GTM 2015 programming mix.
