Dire Straits’ Mark Knopfler launches global comp for next video
Dire Straits' lead guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Mark Knopfler has launched a global competition for his next music video.
Knopfler has teamed with Virgin EMI and collaborative platform for artists and brandsTalenthouse,to offer film and video directors the chance to have their own work become the official video for hisnew track, Wherever I Go, taken from his forthcoming soloalbum Tracker.
The selected creator will receive $£4,000 from EMI, work with Knopflerand receive global exposure –the clip will be promoted across VEVO and Virgin EMI’s social media channels.

The video can be a full music video or a lyric video,it can be shot, animated or short film. Creatives have until 23 March, 2015 at 6pm GMT to submit their ideas here.

Traditionally he is a private person but he’s allowing music out there before the release of Tracker to encourage a new generation of creatives to interpret and create from his work.”
