Maddah called out after dig at Foo Fighters

Frontier Touring has confirmed that the cheapest ticket price offered for Foo Fighters’ Adelaide show was not the $50 that Soundwave festival promoter AJ Maddah claimed it was.

Following what Maddah dubbed “pathetic” sales of Soundwave’s Adelaide leg, and his interview with FasterLouder, where he cited the territory’s slumped economy, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl responded onstage at the 17,000 capacity Coopers Stadium on Wednesday night.

As reported by Rip It Up, Grohl said, “Yep, looks pretty fucking good to me. This is for all those promoters who think Adelaide doesn’t have a fucking rock scene.”

A fan tweeted the dig at Maddah who responded with the following tweet.

Frontier Touring, which is currentlytouringFoo Fighters across Australia, made an official statement to TMN.

"Frontier can confirm no $50 tickets were sold for the Foo Fighters in Adelaide. There was also definitely no need to paper the gig with comp tickets. The event was a massive success attendance wise and Frontier couldn’t be happier with the result. It was great to see Adelaide out in force enjoying a night of awesome rock with the Foo Fighters, Rise Against and The Delta Riggs."

Ticketek employee Monica Lammy also responded to Maddah's claim;on Twitter yesterday sheclaimedthe cheapest ticket was sold for over $100 – the tweet was retweeted by Frontier Touring.

Maddah is yet to address Lammy’s tweet and has not responded to TMN.
