Miley Cyrus pulls her film from NYC Porn Festival
Miley Cyrus has pulled her short film Tongue Tied, which she created with directorQuentin Jones and screened on a back screen during her Bangerz Tour, from Pornhub’s adult film festival in New York.
The 22-year-old pop singer’s representatives have said they were misled by organisers, who painted the event as a 'shorts screening at the artist-ran space Secret project Robot'.
According to organiser Simon Leahy, he had been in contact with production company Cadence about allowing the footage to be used. In a quote published in the New York Post’s Page Six gossip column, he said: “Obviously the story went totally viral [and] that freaked everyone out. We don't want to cause any harm to Miley and her image. It's like we are an art festival. Even though we're using the work porn, we're not some cheap LA porn award festival.”
In a statement to MailOnline, Cyrus’ spokesperson said: "Miley was proud to make a film with acclaimed filmmaker Quentin Jones. She did not instigate this festival submission and is not participating in any way."
Leahy has removed the film from the festival’s listings.
The festival runs from Feb 27 – March 1 in Brooklyn.
