Tickets for One Direction’s long-awaited stadium tour of Australia are currently selling for under half price.

Ticket reseller websiteslike Viagogo and Lasttix have posted tickets for the UK group’s On the Road Again tour forunder face value, some are priced as low as $50.

Tickets for the seven-date stadium tour with British band McBusted and X Factor Australia winner Samantha Jade were announced last May. At the time 1D were still riding the wave of their ARIA #1, 2x Platinum LP Midnight Memories and the 3x Platinum, #1 LP Take Me Home.

Interestingly, the band’s latest LP Four, realesed last November, also went to #1 and reached 2x Platinum certification last week, so any argument detailing the band’s waning popularity in Australia is unmerited.

Something could be said however, about the decision to place tickets on sale nine months prior to the concert. Whilst the stratagem has proven profitable in the past for One Direction, reports suggest the band is struggling to sell out each stadium.

Ticket options still on sale via Ticketek for the Sydney shows include all A, B, and C Reserve tickets for around $180, $140 and $100 respectively, plus ‘Hot Tickets’ for $300 – where the buyer gets a 1D watch, a close view of the stage and a mocktail – and a ‘Catwalk Package’ for $570, which includes VIP entry, food, mocktails, a piece of merchandise and other small offerings which, crucially, doesn'tinclude a meet-a-greet.

On Viagogo, Sydney ‘Hot Tickets’ are selling for $199, A Reserve are selling for around $100, B Reserve for $87 and C Reserve for $97, in Perth C Reserve are selling for around $70.
