Angus & Julia Stone make Billboard’s Hot Tours list
Sydney brother-sister duo Angus & Julia Stone scored #6 on Billboard’s Hot Tours list, sandwiched between The Black Keys and Nelly.
The Hot Tours list is published weekly, ranked by gross, and compiled from BillboardBoxscores – in this case, reported between January 14-20.
The duo has just finished a sold out North American tour performing to sold-out houses in New York, LA, Washington, Boston and San Francisco, and a six-week, 30-date headline tour of the UK and Europe. But it was the five-date tour through Germany in early November which earned the duo the sixth place on the list. Angus & Julia grossed $449,207 performing to a total attendance of 12,629.
Angus & Julia are touring globally in support of their Gold-certified, ARIA #1 third LP. The self-titled releasewas produced by Rick Rubin (Linkin Park, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Eminem) and peaked inside the Top 4 in numerous European countries including the #1 spot in both France (where the album is certified Gold) and Switzerland. OnFebruary 4, they'll kick off a 15-date national tour.Tickets went on sale today via Live Nation.
Topping the list this week with the biggest box office numberwas Sir Elton John. His ticket sales topped $3 million with just one concert date to a sold out Barclays Centerin Brooklyn. The show on New Year’s Eve sold 16,470 tickets.
