CEO Magazine features ARN’s Ciaran Davis on the cover
Australian Radio Network CEO Ciaran Davis features on the February cover of The CEO Magazine,a publication for high-level executives.
It’s the magazine’s Executive of the Year Awards winners issue, and highlightsDavis’ CEO Of The Year win at its gala awards event held last November.
Speaking to the magazine, Davis said: “Radio is a people business, and I’m a firm believer in building a strong team environment, particularly during times of great change, and communicating openly by informing staff what’s happening, what’s next on the horizon, and delivering on those commitments. This cultural shift has been a key driver in empowering all our staff to contribute the innovation and hard work required to transform ARN.”
Davis noted ARN’s banner year in 2014, where the network launched KIIS 1065 with Kyle & Jackie O in Sydney. The new station immediately went to #1FM and when it did fall back to #2throughout the year it was topped by ARN station WS FM101.7. WS FM took the top spot for four out of the six 2014 ratings surveys, and its hostsBrendan 'Jonesy' Jones andAmandaKeller werenamed the #1 FM Breakfast team in Sydney three times.
“With many media owners having to cut costs to hold profit margins, the board of ARN has been incredibly supportive in its investment and growth strategy built on hiring Australia’s best talent, producing great content, and marketing our brands aggressively,” David toldCEO Magazine.
ARN boasts12 radio stations nationwide. Its brands KIIS, Pure Gold, iHeartRadio, and The Edge96.ONE have an accumulated audience of over four million listeners. Earlier this month ARN announced its acquisition of Perth’s 96FM into its KIIS network. The purchase completed ARN’s five capital city offering and made it the #1 metro radio network in Australia (GfK).
“We have also evolved our radio stations into broader entertainment brands,” he added, “offering audiences exclusive on-air, social, and digital content and customised experiences via the ongoing evolution of internet and streaming platforms such as iHeartRadio.”
