Three Aus acts receive multiple Grammy nods

Adelaide-born, LA-based artistSia Furler, Mullumbimby-born rapperIggy Azalea and New Zealand-born, Caboolture-raised country music artist Keith Urban have all been given multiple nods for next year’s Grammy Awards.

Sia, who picked up four ARIAs for Album of the Year, Best Pop Album, Best Female Artist and Best Video last month, has been nominated in four categories for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, heldnext February.

Her ARIA Award-winning, chart-topping single Chandelier is up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, while its video featuring Maddie Ziegler picked up a nomination in the Best Music Video category.

Iggy Azalea, who won theARIA for Breakthrough Artistlast month, has picked up four Grammy nominations for her debut LP The New Classic and her Billboard chart history-making single Fancy. The track with Charli XCX received two nominations, forRecord of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, while The New Classic sees her up against Childish Gambino,Common,ScHoolboy Q,Wiz Khalifaand Eminem for Best Rap Album. Azalea is also up for and Best New Artist.

Keith Urban, who can count four Grammys and four ARIAs among his accolades, is up for two Grammy Awards in the Best Country Solo Performance (for Cop Car) and Best Country Duo/Group Performance (for Raise ‘Em Up ft. Eric Church) categories.

Other notable Australian mentions are found in the Producer of the Year – Non Classical and Best Music Film categories. US producer John Hill, who produced Kimbra’s track Goldmine as well as Sia’s track with Eminem, Guts Over Fear, is up for Producer of the Year – Non Classical as is LA-based producer Greg Kurstin, who produced Sia’s LP 100 Forms Of Fear. Pink’s Live From Melbourne footage from her ‘The Truth About Love Tour’ is up for Best Music Film.

The 2015 Grammys are held on February 8 at Los Angeles' Staples Center.
