Isaiah Firebrace drops radio-ready single ‘Know Me Better’
Isaiah Firebrace has steadily grown his impressive discography since winning The X Factor Australia in 2016, now unveiling his latest single ‘Know Me Better’.
He finished in the Top 10 when representing Australia at Eurovision in 2017, and has become the most-streamed First Nations artist in the world.
Now he’s unveiled ‘Know Me Better’, a single that’s ready to make Firebrace an Aussie radio regular, co-written with Sydney-duo DNA who also produced the track.
The tune combines his resonant vocals over several octaves with tight, pop-driven production, and feels powerfully personal from the outset.
“This song actually means a lot to me because I finally feel like I’m starting to know myself better and I am heading in the direction I want to with my music,” he says.
“I’ve been in the studio a lot over the last three years and have experimented with lots of styles but ‘Know Me Better’ is a song that I’m really proud to release. I love the song, I love the production and I just can’t wait to be able to show people this song!!”
It’s another work that is reflective of his journey from childhood hardship growing in Moama, NSW where he often went without food in order to fund travel to singing lessons as a kid.
“It’s still all a bit surreal for me. I’m just this guy from a little country town but if I can keep doing what I love to do and bring music to the world then I know I’m on the right path,” he said.
Firebrace continues to build momentum around his exciting young career, having spent a good chunk of 2019 on a massive 55-date Spirit and Beyond tour through central and regional Australia.
He made it a priority to speak with as many Aboriginal school children as possible to pass on powerful messages about working hard to achieve goals and the importance of finding a passion.
Outside of music, Firebrace is currently writing a kid’s book called The Purple Platypus and is pushing that positive message for kids who feel different.
