Music managers course announces successful applicants
CONTROL, the five-stage program designed to help music managers from Australia and New Zealand grow their businesses, has announced the 15 successful applicants.
For the first time, New Zealand is taking part in the six-month program with Cushla Aston, Scott Grafton and Ninakaye Taane-Tinorau joining the 12 Australian music managers.
The Australian managers are: Jess Beston, Stefan Emslie, Clara Iaccarino, Dave MacGregor, Monique Rothstein and Matty Woo from New South Wales, Alastair Burns and Nick Lynagh from Victoria, Jane Slingo and Josh Taylor Anderson from Queensland, Daisy Brown from South Australia and Bel Skinner from Broome in Western Australia.
’CONTROL: The Business of Music Management’ incorporates two residential workshops. The first will be held in Terrigal near Sydney from 23-26 November and the second at the end of the program in 2015.
Six music and business advisers including Canada’s Terry McBride (manager of Stereophonics, fun., Christina Perri), New Zealand’s Paul McKessar (manager of Brooke Fraser, The Naked and Famous, Lydia Cole, Breaks Co-op) and Australia’s Correne Wilkie (manager of The Cat Empire, Jackson Jackson, Harry James Angus) will work with the 15 participants on leadership skills and business models.
The program is presented by the Australian Music Industry Network (AMIN), supported by Music Managers Forum of New Zealand (MMF NZ) and the Australian Association of Artist Managers (AAM) and funded by the Australian Government and the New Zealand Music Commission.
