Sony Music signs X Factor finalist Reigan

Former Editor

Sony Music Australia has signed another of X Factor’s alumni, taking on Top 4 finalist Reigan Derry.

From being dubbed the show’s best performing artist after renditions of Adele’s Someone Like You, Shakira’s Can’t Remember To Forget You and Sam Smith’s Stay With Me hit the iTunes Top 40, to surprising viewers when she was voted out before Brothers3, new Sony signing Dean Ray and overall winner Marlisa Punzalan, Derry’s career in the industry was written when X Factor coach Redfoo vowed to be a part of it.

“You have to wait and even if she gets picked up by Sony, I am going to be the first person who wants to work with her and that may be mentoring, advising or consulting,” he told AAP earlier this month.

Derry’s EP All Of The Pieces gets an official release on December 12 and its title track is serviced to radio on November 20. The track was written by Becky Hill, Martin Brammer and Adam Argyle, who has penned tracks for Newton Faulkner and Olly Murs. The EP will feature some of her X Factor performances.

Denis Handlin AM, Chairman & CEO Australia & New Zealand and President, Asia, Sony Music Entertainment, said in a statement: “I am delighted to be welcoming Reigan into the Sony Music family. She is a very determined and skillful performer with incredible talent and we are very excited to be a part of the next phase in her career.”

Derry will launch the single during ARIA Week next month.
