Most Heard Airplay Tracks Last Week – TMN HOT 100
Another week, another tug of war for #1 between Meghan Trainor and Taylor Swift on the TMN Hot 100. This time Swift has come out on top with Shake It Off, making it the fourth week the track has spent at #1 interrupted, forcing Trainor’s All About That Bass back down to #2. Calvin Harris & John Newman’s Blame remains at #3 for another week, still falling short of enough airplay to break into the Top 2 whilst Trainor and Swift still battle it out. Klingande’s Jubel also remains at #4, reluctant to fall back into its decline out of the Top 10 that until last week, seemed like a certainty.
After just four weeks in the chart, Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud now breaks into the Top 5, moving up from last week’s position of #9. The amount of airplay this track has been receiving is no doubt related to Sheeran’s recent promotional tour of the country which saw him perform at the AFL grand final halftime show as well as a performance on The X Factor two weeks ago. If any track is going to push either Trainor or Swift out of the Top 2, it’s this one. Redfoo’s New Thang reaches a new peak at #6 this week, up one position from last week’s #7. It’s hard to tell whether or not it’s possible for this single to progress any further up the Top 10 given all the competition in the Top 5 but at this stage it looks unlikely.
Nathaniel’s Live Louder defies predictions of falling out of the Top 10 and has moved back up to #7, falling one position short of the tracks previous peak of #6. Alesso’s Heroes has reached a new peak this week, breaking into the Top 10 and landing at #8. The single has had a steady rate of climbing since debuting at #77 five weeks ago and definitely still has potential to at least make a few more gains inside the Top 10. The Veronicas’ You Ruin Me has fallen to #9 this week. It appears as though this single’s time in the Top 10 has come and gone and could very well drop out unless there are some playlist changes at radio come this week’s chart. Much of the same can be said about Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj’s Bang Bang, which after four weeks inside the Top 10, could be looking at dropping into the Top 15 again.
