DMA’s sign to Coldplay’s booking agency Paradigm
The international partnerships keep rolling in for Newtown’s DMA’s, who have just inked a deal with full-service US booking agency Paradigm Talent.
Home to Aerosmith, Coldplay, The Black Eyed Peas and Dave Matthews Band, Paradigm has signed DMA’s to a North American deal.
Paradigm Booking Agent Kevin French told TMN he came across the band whilst preparing for his jaunt to BIGSOUND.
“Coming over to Brisbane for BIGSOUND for the second time, I made sure to spend some time researching the showcasing artists and fell in love with Delete on DMA’s page,” French told TMN. “I was then completely blown away by DMA’s live show at BIGSOUND, song after song!”
French joined Paradigm in 2009 and has helped take acts like The Vaccines, The National and The Brian Jonestown Massacre global.
“I woke up the next morning looking up everything I could find online. Can’t believe they have been playing together such a short time,” French added. “Very excited to introduce DMA’s to the US in October!”
This month, DMA’s are headed to the UK, Europe and the US, where they’ll perform at the renowned CMJ Music Marathon.
This latest deal follows DMA’s signing with European booking agency Primary Talent in July. The band’s label owner at I Oh You, Johann Ponniah, had sent DMA’s self-titled EP to a friend who worked for the booker. The EP was passed on to Ben Winchester, a Partner at Primary.
Last month, Mermaid Avenue/Mom & Pop Records – who has Sleigh Bells, Flume and Wavves on its roster – inked a deal which will see it release upcoming double sided 7” So We Know and Laced in the US on November 14. Brooklyn-based label Partisan Records also announced it signed band last month, Partisan will release the 7″ in Europe.
