Taylor Swift heading to Australia

Taylor Swift has announced a visit to Australia for next month to promote her upcoming LP 1989 (out October 28).

The news was announced on The X Factor last night; Swift will perform the talent show’s grand final.

The 7x Grammy winner has a healthy fanbase in Australia; pre-orders for both the LP and its first single Shake It Off hit #1 on the Australian iTunes within 24 hours, hashtags for the Yahoo livestream on which she announced 1989 trended on Twitter locally and most recently, Shake It Off has enjoyed three consecutive weeks atop the ARIA Singles chart.

Globally, Swift has sold 30 million albums and 75 million song downloads, 1.1 million albums and 2.7 million singles have been sold in Australia. Her last album Red (2012) sold more than six million copies worldwide and spent three weeks at #1 on the ARIA Chart.
