Peking Duk sign to Sony Music

The DJ/producer duo (Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles) from Canberra have inked a worldwide deal with Sony Music Entertainment in partnership with RCA Records.

Peking Duk’s Manager Ben Dennis (Myriad Management) told TMN: “We are delighted to welcome RCA and Sony Music Australia into the Peking Duk team and look forward to a prosperous relationship with both labels in taking the guys’ music to the next level, both in Australia and internationally.”

Peking Duk will stay on with their longtime label Vicious Recordings for their next two singles, includingTake Me Over featuring Safia on the local independent’s Vicious Bitch imprint.

Guy Lewis, Vicious Bitch’s A&R manager said the label worked in conjunction with Peking Duk’s management, Sony and RCA to agree to a licensing deal for the rest of the world outside of Australia and New Zealand for both High and the remaining tracks which fall under the Vicious Recordings deal.

“We are stoked to have been working with the Peking Duk guys since the very start of their career and we wish them all the best with their international opportunities,” said Lewis. “We will continue to release the next two singles on Vicious Bitch here in Australia and New Zealand.”

“We would also like to thank Vicious Recordings for making this deal possible,”Peking Duk’s Manager Ben Dennis added.

“We are excited to work with them on the next two Peking Duk single releases in Australia, including the follow up to the double platinum-selling High, Take Me Over featuring Safia, which will be going to media next month.”

Peking Duk have had an incredible 2014 already with their single High peaking at #5 on the ARIA Singles chart and #11 on the TMN Hot 100. In June the track charted in the Top 10 Airplay chart on 5FM in South Africa, sandwiched between Childish Gambino’s Crawl and Kat Dahlia’s Crazy. High has been certified 2x Platinum in Australia and Gold in New Zealand.

Peking Duk have just completed a sold-out national tour where they took in all the major cities over 11 dates.

Earlier this week Peking Duk were announced to speak at Sydney’s Electronic Music Conference alongside Steve Aoki, Coachella’s Johnny Shockey andInterscope Records’ Neil Jacobsen.
