After the end of Pink’s The Truth About Love Australian tour last Sunday, Live Nation Australasia released some figures about Pink’s achievements.
- 46 sell out shows to over 600,000 fans.
- A record 18 shows at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, to a total 250,000 fans.
- 8 shows at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, breaking the venue’s record for most performances by a female, previously held by Kylie Minogue. Pink has done 26 shows there over her four Australian tours.
- 4 sold out shows at Allphones Arena concluded her run in Sydney, breaking its record for most tickets sales by a solo artist. Ticket sales exceeded 67,000, breaking the record held by Britney Spears’ 2009 The Circus tour.
- After playing to nearly 15,000 fans per night in Perth, Pink holds the record for the top four attended events at Perth Arena, and the record for the most performances by any artist and tour.
- Close to 100,000 attended eight sell-outs at Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
The tour obviously also translated into strong sales for her record label Sony Music. After spending 51 weeks on the ARIA chart and shifting 7x Platinum, this week The Truth About Love album returned to the #1 spot for a 10th week.
Michael Coppel, President and CEO of Live Nation Australia, thanked Pink for spending three months on tour in this country. “Everyone at LNA has been thrilled to be involved in Pink’s record breaking tour, continuing a decade-long association with an artist who continues to set new standards and who has now sold in excess of 1.5 million tickets in Australia.”
