New third category for WA’s Kiss My Camera competition
This year’s WA music photography competition Kiss My Camera has an additional category, making it a total of three.
It is for live shots of touring acts, which can be an international or national act as long as it’s shot in WA.
Run by peak music association WAM to celebrate an essential element of the live experience, the other two are for best portrait/press shot of a WA act and best live photograph of a WA act.
The rules are: the photographer must be from WA, the photo taken in the state, and must have been taken between September 2017 and September 2018.
Shortlisted shots will again be on show for tens of thousands to enjoy, with the exhibition running on both the Perth Cultural Centre Screen and the Northbridge Piazza Screen.
Each category winner gets a huge prize pack, including magazine features, tax advice, studio time, sensor cleaning, a year’s membership with PICA Art Addicts and a three-year membership with the Perth Centre for Photography, among other offerings.
Entries will be judged by Perth music photographers Duncan Barnes and Chris O’Halloran, and music journalist Bob Gordon.
