LA Reid’s new company Hitco signs solo deal with Dinah Jane of Fifth Harmony
LA Reid’s new music company Hitco has announced via its social media pages that it has signed a solo deal with Dinah Jane of Fifth Harmony.
A new single is expected “within weeks”.
The 21-year-old has been working with a number of songwriters as Priscilla Renae (Fifth Harmony‘s Worth It, Rhianna’s California King Bed), MoZella (Miley Cyrus‘ Wrecking Ball, co-wrote most of Rebel Heart with Madonna) and producers including Nic Nac, Neff-U, .R. Rotem and Blessed from A Pop.
Last year she featured on the RedOne track Boom Boom with Daddy Yankee and French Montana.
She is also set to appear in the Netflix film The After Party.
Jane is Hitco’s 15th act, joining the likes of Outkast‘s Big Boi, developing rappers Skinnyfromthe9 and Yella Beezy, and DJ Holiday.
Since Fifth Harmony announced an indefinite hiatus earlier this year, Camila Cabello has had a #1 solo album and single with Havana.
Normani Kordei signed with Keep Cool/RCA Records and peaked at #15 in the US with her Khalid duet Love Lies, and is rumoured to be cutting a track with Sam Smith.
Lauren Jauregui, who last week won female hottie and electro dance song at the Teen Choice Awards, has a solo album in the pipeline and issued collaborations with Halsey, Steve Aoki and Marian Hill.
Ally Brooke signed with Atlantic Records and Latium Entertainment, a joint venture with Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
Dinah Jane Milika Ilaisaane Hansen Amasio grew up in Santa Ana, California, the eldest of eight daughters.
She grew up in a four-bedroom house with 23 other people.
She is of Polynesian, mainly Tongan, Samoan, Fijian, and Danish descent.
In 2015, she auditioned for the role of the main character in animated film Moana; the role went to Auliʻi Cravalho.
Reid and Jane first met when he was a judge on The X Factor where Fifth Harmony formed reaching 3rd place of the finalists.
He later signed the act to Epic/Sony, where he was CEO until he was forced to step down in May 2017 after allegations of sexual harassment by a former assistant.
