Warpaint sign artist services deal with Caroline International

Los Angeles based all-female rock band Warpaint – which includes Sydney born Stella Mozgawa on drums and keyboards – have signed an artist services deal with Caroline International.

Caroline International, which comes under the Universal Music umbrella in this country, will act as de facto label for the band providing marketing, promotional and distribution services.

Starting today, Warpaint will work with Caroline International’s teams, led by Michael Roe and Jim Chancellor, in more than 20 countries.

Australia has always been a major market for Warpaint.

They’ve toured here a number of times, twice last year, first in February, and then again in December with alt.j.

Co-MD of Caroline International, Jim Chancellor says of the deal, “We here at Caroline international are beyond excited to have the opportunity to work with Warpaint, who are one of the finest bands in the world right now.

“We’re really looking forward to helping the rest of the world fall in love with them.”

Theresa Wayman of Warpaint says, “Jim Chancellor, Michael Roe and their team have long reputations for being great Record People.

“We’re very excited to open new doors, make new sounds and pave new roads with Caroline International!”

Despite their live following in Australia, the band has yet to have crossover success.

Formed in 2004, its biggest album around the world, Heads Up (2016) only nudged the lower end of the ARIA Hot 50.
