Four more Aussie, American, performers for CMC Music Awards
Four more performers have been announced for the 8th CMC Music Awards.
These are held by Foxtel and CMC (Country Music Channel) on Thursday March 15 at The Star, Gold Coast.
Aussie country music singer-songwriters Travis Collins and Amber Lawrence are joined by US hot breaking bands Old Dominion and Brothers Osborne.
They join Darius Rucker, Kelsea Ballerini and The Wolfe Brothers, with The McClymonts hosting the event.
The awards are scheduled the night before the CMC Rocks Queensland festival held March 15 to 18 at Willowbank near Ipswich – and which this year set a record by selling out all 18,000 tickets in an hour, according to promoters.
Both are broadcast on CMC, the festival in April.
Tickets for the awards are bought at ticketek.com.au. For further information visit countrymusicchannel.com.au.
Nashville-based Old Dominion make their Australian debut at the awards and CMC Rocks after notching up a couple of country chart toppers in the US.
Their debut album Meat And Candy went gold while singles ‘Break Up With Him’ and ‘Snapback’ went platinum.
Spending the last two years on the road saw Old Dominion named ACM New Group of the Year, ACCA Breakthrough Group of the Year, AIMP Songwriter Artist of the Year and Music Row Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
“We are so honoured and humbled to perform at the CMC Awards in Australia,” said singer Matthew Ramsey.
“What an incredible feeling to see how far our music is reaching!”
Also from Nashville and also making their Australian debut are Brothers Osborne, comprised of siblings John and TJ Osborne.
The two-time CMA “Vocal Duo of the Year” recently released their new single ‘Shoot Me Straight’ off their upcoming sophomore album Port Saint Joe which was produced by Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town).
Their debut gold album Pawn Shop yielded the Top 10 ‘It Ain’t My Fault’, #1 platinum ‘Stay A Little Longer’ and nostalgic ’21 Summer’.
Australian guitarist and singer-songwriter Travis Collins’ latest album Hard Light delivered three #1 singles and charted in the ARIA top 20 all-genre albums chart.
At the awards, he will be performing with Amber Lawrence their duet ‘Our Backyard’ which last month earned them 3 Golden Guitar wins – APRA Song of the Year, Single of the Year and Vocal Collaboration of the Year.
Hard working Lawrence took Female Artist of the Year for ‘Superhero’ at the 2015 Golden Guitars and the CMC Music Award for Female Artist of the Year.
It was the first time in history that an artist has won bothawards in one year.
CMC Rocks, now in its 11th year, is headlined by US superstar Luke Bryan, making his Australian debut, along with Darius Rucker, Kelsea Ballerini and Busby Marou.
