EXCLUSIVE: Ryan Downey signs to Barely Dressed, announces album and drops lead single ’Running’
Indie folkster Ryan Downey has inked a new deal with Barely Dressed Records and Remote Control Records.
In celebration of the new deal, the Melbourne singer-songwriter has double-dropped his brand new single ’Running’ alongside the official music video.
’Running’ is the lead track from his forthcoming album of the same name, which Downey revealed the release date of this morning as April 13.
The three-minutesong, which copped its first radio airplay on Double J Mornings yesterday, is a captivating example of Downey’s dulcet baritone – making it a perfect release for Valentine’s Day.
The forthcoming album was produced by Steve Hassett and recorded across New York and Melbourne, with subject material ranging from humour and pathos, self-analysis and love.
Bursting onto the scene at BIGSOUND when he was declared ’The Voice of BIGSOUND 2016’, Downey has since declared himself as a real force on the Aussie music scene.
Downey is also set to play a couple of intimate shows this March, at the Gasometer in Melbourne (March 2) and at the Golden Age Cinema in Sydney (March 8).
