ARIA Chart Predictions: Shannon Noll and DZ Deathrays push for Top 5 debuts on the Albums Chart
Australian artistsShannon Noll andDZ Deathrays mayenter the ARIA Albums Chart in the Top5 this week with both artists dropping new records over the past seven days. Noll’s Unbroken, the singer’s fifth studio album, and DZ’s third LP Bloody Lovely are well positioned at the halfway point, but will likely ease offtowards the latter stages of the week.
The only other debut this week is Justin Timberlake’s Man Of The Woods. Following his performance at the Super Bowl LII Halftime Show and a slew of promotional appearances, JT will have no trouble shipping units. Previous albums FutureSex / LoveSounds (2006) and The 20/20 Experience Pt. 1 (2013) both hit the top spot in Australia as Man Of The Woods looks destined to land in the Top 3.
The question remains – can Timberlake dislodge The Greatest Showman from the albums summit? The soundtrack has been an immovable force in 2018 with five consecutive weeks at #1 and has held off some strong opposition from Fall Out Boy and Camila Cabello over this period.
Debut singles are much more plentiful this week as The Weeknd & Kendrick Lamar look to the Top 20 with their new collab ‘Pray For Me’. With the help of an internet meme, Bazzi has been catapulted to prominence with fresh hit ‘Mine’. The track will debut in the top half of the Singles chart this week, as will Vance Joy’s ‘We’re Going Home’ and Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack single ‘For You’ by Liam Payne and Rita Ora.
As is usually the case, tracks featuring Macklemore are too much to resist for Australians. The rapper has five Top 3 singles under his belt already as his featured role on Rudimental’s ‘These Days’ alongside Jess Glynne & Dan Caplen pushes for a spot in the Top 5.
