Exclusive: Ron Creevey launching ‘Countdown’-style TV show with major network
Australian tech entrepreneur Ron Creevey is launching a weekly music television show in partnership with twomajor networks in Australia and the US.
TMNcan exclusively reveal the show will be titledLive at The X Studiowith the objective to feature artist interviews and two performances a week.
While the Australian and US television networks set to host the show are still to be officially announced,TMNunderstands the show will be broadcast live from Creevey’s multi-media venue The X Studio in Sydney’s Kings Cross and from the still-to-be-built The X Studio in Los Angeles.
TMNunderstands the show’s format will pay homage to the iconic ABC TV show Countdown, which ran from 1975 to 1987.
Live at The X Studiowill run for 30 minutes with viewers given the option to stream the show on Creevey’s live streaming platform The X Cast afterward.
The show’s firstscreening sometime in 2017will follow the launch of Creevey’s label Helipad Records. Launching in two weeks time, the labelhas non-exclusive contracts with over 80artists who will regularly use The X Studios and The X Cast for release campaigns and to aggregate content.
According to the Helipad’s official website,its artists include the late Michael Hutchence, UK artists Hurricane #1 and Brydie Taylor and Adelaide singer-songwriter and producer Jozsef James.
Concurrently, Creevey and LA-based producerDanny Saber have plans to release the unheard music of Michael Hutchence next year and will make a documentary film to coincide with the 20thanniversary of Hutchence’s death.
It’s expected that Heath Ledger’sproduction company The Masses, which Creevey is a major shareholder (47.5%) of, will work in partnership with the twoUS and Australian television networks onLive at The X Studio.
