2022 Music Victoria Awards Reveal Public Voting Categories Nominees

The nominees in the public voting categories at the 2022 Music Victoria Awards have been announced, with Baker Boy and Julia Jacklin leading the way.

Voting for all 12 public voting categories is now officially open, with Victorians encouraged to head to the official website before voting closes on Monday, November 21st at 5pm AEDT.

The nominees were selected by over 200 acclaimed music judges from across Victoria’s diverse music scene. Hip hop star Baker Boy has the most nominations with four, including for Best Album (Gela).

Julia Jacklin has two nominations, but will face strong competition from Kerryn Fields and Mo’Ju in the Best Solo Artist category.

Away from performers, several iconic Melbourne venues, including The Night Cat and Sidney Myer Music Bowl, will hope to be crowned Best Large Venue (Metro).

The likes of Hotel Warrnambool and Daylesford Hotel are nominated for Best Regional Venue/Presenter (Under 50 Gigs Per Year).

This year also sees the arrival of the Best DJ category, recognising the stellar electronic and dance music communities in the state.

The public voting categories nominees join the previously announced list of industry nominations, which includes big names such as Alice Ivy, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and Confidence man.
