BIGSOUND GETS BIGGER: FINAL ARTISTS ADDED

PRESS RELEASE:

BIGSOUND Festival 2016 has dropped the biggest live list in its history, adding to an already huge lineup to deliver 150 artists across 15 venues over 3 nights in Brisbane September 7-9; all with just one wristband.

The new announcement is led by A.B. Original, Tkay Maidza, Harts, DZ Deathrays, I Heart Hiroshima, Vera Blue, KUČKA, Japanese Wallpaper, Rainbow Chan, The Belligerents, The Gooch Palms, Teeth & Tongue, Harmony James, Gawurra and many more. They join previous announcements including Alex Lahey, Sampa the Great, Tigertown, Tash Sultana, MOSSY, Olympia, Bec Sandridge, Ivan Ooze and Good Boy to create the ultimate selection for punters to choose their own adventure of new music.

The famous Fortitude Valley Live Music Precinct will be alive with activity as Australia shows off its musical wares to the world as well as welcoming breaking international acts including Yumi Zouma (NZ), iNCH (Singapore), In Each Hand A Cutlass (Singapore), .gif (Singapore), NAATIONS (USA), Prateek Kuhad (India), Fazerdaze (NZ) and more.

The triple j Unearthed stage will also be back, celebrating ten years of triple j Unearthed, with two lucky bands selected to play in front of the world’s industry tastemakers (entries close July 31 at triplejunearthed.com) alongside as some of the biggest Unearthed bands of 2016.

A festival experience like no other, for just $75 (+bf), an all access wristband gives entry to all festival venues with the exclusive BIGSOUND app available to plan and keep track of your BIGSOUND experience.

Festivals looking over rolling hills and listening to birdlife against crunching guitars have their place, but BIGSOUND is about getting your music raw and real. It’s about seeing the hottest breaking music in all its urban glory—having a beer in an outdoor space. Dancing through the sweat in a real pub venue. Enjoying the silence as a singer songwriter slays a small room. Seeing a mate as you grab a slice of pizza at quarter to midnight while running to catch another band you’ve been wanting to see for the last year. BIGSOUND is everything you love about live music packed into three manic days of auditory overload. It can be a structured plan to see as many bands as you can with a strict timetable. It can be a glorious mess of discovery. Or it can be both. BIGSOUND is YOUR musical adventure.

“It’s hard to explain what the BIGSOUND experience is like because there’s nothing else like it in the country,” said BIGSOUND producer Joel Edmondson. “Imagine taking over a whole inner-city suburb and turning it into a treasure hunt for the best new music Australia has to offer. Add to that one of the best party vibes there is and you start to get the drift. We’re proud to be able to share the unbridled joy that is BIGSOUND to those returning to get their fix and those yet to taste what makes BIGSOUND such an addictive experience.”

Tickets for the BIGSOUND Festival are also on sale now for just $75+bf for two huge nights of music with 150 bands across 15 venues, plus a third night closing party at the Triffid on Friday September 9. Special rate tickets for the BIGSOUND conference which includes access to the BIGSOUND Festival are available until July 31 or until sold out from just $450 at www.bigsound.org.au.
