Midweek ARIA Predictions: It’s all about The Avalanches

ARIA Singles

The Veronicas will remain at #1 next week if the mid-week forecasts ring true. Their single In My Blood took the top spot last week and marked the first Australian single to top the chart in 2016.

The first change will likely be in the Top 5 from Shawn Mendes’ Treat You Better, which will move from its current spot of #8. Little Mix will crack the Top 10 from #21 with Hair. Delta Goodrem and Usher will make it to the Top 30 with their tracks Enough and Crash. Delta’s Enough ft. Gizzle currently sits at #33 while Usher’s Crash is at #38.

ARIA Albums

It’s going to be all about The Avalanches next week. Their ’sixteen years in the making’ album Wildflower is well on its way to a #1 debut with competition from Delta Goodrem or blink-182’s recent works unlikely. The album is the follow-up to the 2000 classic Since I Left You. It only ever peaked at #21 on the ARIA Albums chart though it’s expected to climb into the Top 30 of the Albums chart next week, currently sitting outside the Top 50.

Schoolboy Q’s Blank Face LP is looking for a Top 10 entry, which could be his highest chart appearance to date, with previous best being 2014’s Oxymoron at #11. Biffy Clyro’s Ellipsis is also aiming for a Top 10 entry while Switchfoot’s Where The Light Shines Through will debut in the Top 30.

Children’s music albums will perform well next week too with Play School’s 50 Best Songs and The Wiggles’ The Best Of both on track to move to the Top 20.
